TENS hire terms and conditions
When you pay for a TENS machine hire, you have agreed to the following terms and conditions:
The hire period is for up to 8 weeks.
Postage & returns:
The TENS machine will be posted to you four weeks before your baby’s estimated due date (as advised by you at the time of booking).
Ideally your TENS machine should be posted back to Labour Loot within three weeks of your baby’s due date (so it is received by Labour Loot within four weeks of your baby’s due date).
If you hire the TENS machine less than four weeks before your baby’s estimated due date, it will be posted within one business day. It is still expected to be returned within four weeks of your baby’s estimated due date.
The cost of hiring a TENS machine is $79.00 and this includes:
Elle TENS 2 machine with batteries (obstetric TENS machine designed for labour; features include two burst modes to use between contractions, boost modes during contractions and a contraction timer).
Labour Loot bag (yours to keep).
Lanyard (yours to keep – used to hang the machine around your neck in labour).
Leads x 2 and spare lead x 1 (all 3 leads must be returned) and spare batteries.
Electrode pads (4 x rectangle 40x100mm genuine BabyCare Elle TENS brand; new in a sealed bag - don’t trust hiring a machine with non-genuine electrode pads, they are dangerous).

Hire period of up to 8 weeks.
Return shipping within Australia.

The TENS machine is to be used by the person named on the booking and is not transferable.
The TENS machine remains the property of Labour Loot at all times.
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure a TENS machine is suitable and safe for your use by discussing it with your midwife or doctor.
The TENS machine should only be used according to the instructions provided. All instructions and contraindications should be followed by the customer as per the instructions. Labour Loot will not be held liable for any injury or damage sustained as a result of misusing the TENS machine.
The TENS machine is not waterproof and should not be used in/around water; dry skin thoroughly before applying the pads.
You agree to return the TENS machine and leads in the same condition that you received them.
If the TENS machine and leads are returned contaminated in blood/bodily fluids, you are liable to pay a cleaning fee of $100.00 and additional debt collector fees if applicable.
If the TENS machine and leads (two leads and one spare lead) are returned damaged, reported lost/stolen or not returned within four weeks of your baby’s estimated due date, you are liable to pay a replacement fee of $252.00 (RRP $230.00 for Elle TENS 2 machine and $22.00 for the spare lead) and additional debt collector fees if applicable.
Cancellations/refunds:
Once your TENS machine has been dispatched, refunds are not available for change of mind or if the machine is not used during labour or birth.
If you need to cancel your TENS machine hire after payment, please contact Clare on 0410 332 917 as soon as possible. A full refund will be provided only if the cancellation is made prior to dispatch.
In the unlikely event that your TENS machine arrives damaged or faulty, please contact Clare on 0410 332 917 as soon as possible with photos and a description of the issue. If the unit is confirmed to be faulty, a replacement will be sent within one business day. The faulty machine must be returned using the pre-paid satchel provided (no cost to you). If a replacement is not available (for example, if all machines are currently hired out), a full refund will be issued once the complete hire pack has been returned.
What if I accidentally break the TENS machine or loose the leads?
Accidents happen, but Labour Loot also needs to fulfil future hire bookings and receive each TENS machine back in good working order. If the TENS machine is returned damaged (eg from water, being dropped/cracked or from not being posted in the padded bag provided with the hire), you are liable to pay a replacement fee of $252.00 (RRP $230.00 for Elle TENS 2 machine and $22.00 for the spare lead) and additional debt collector fees if applicable.
If you have misplaced or damaged the leads only, please email me to advise; you are liable to pay a replacement fee for the leads only ($22.00 RRP per lead).
